The file was: install_flashplayer17x32au_mssa_aaa_aih.exe. Firefox showed it was coming from, but it added some McAfee software I did not want and my Avast immediately returned an alert that it blocked a harmful webpage or file (Infection: URL:Mal). I did have some concern a few days earlier when I downloaded an Adobe Flash update based on a pop-up alert on my computer. "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. My device manager says the drivers are current for both, but then it also said this: Thought it went bad so I purchased an LG external DVD player, but the computer does recognize it either, even after trying 3 different USB ports that I know work. The computer stopped recognizing my internal CD/DVD player, although the door still opens/closes. I have a 2-yr old HP desktop with Windows 7 Home edition. ![]()
